Is there anyway to clear the prior search criteria that
is saved? For example, if I recently searched for *.tmp
files, then I start a new search and put just the *, the
*.tmp drop down shows.
There are times that I don't want the whole family to
know whrn I search and what for. My teenage son is smart
enough to know that I searched his files.

Internet Explorer? In IE, tools, content tab, AutoComplete button, clear forms.

Thanks Mary.
I tried as you suggested and apparently the search
criteria is not a form. It is still on the drop down
menu after I clear it. I'll keep looking for the well
hidden answer.

We're in an XP-Group, aren't we?
So, Windows XP offers excellent user-profile-possibilities...
So just make an account for your son and one for yourself and then use
YOUR account for whatever you want (searching files e.g.) and your son
won't see anything in HIS account.
The two profiles will be totally divided - his programm settings and
hiostories, and yours. You can even take him the right to install
programms e.g. by making him a "user".
If you got more questions on how to create profiles --> just ask.
Regards,
Michael Whittaker.
