Hi all,
I had a home network with all PC's running Windows 98 and used to pass
messages around using Winpopup. I have now upgraded one of the computers to
XP Home and I dont seem to have Winpopup. Can anyone tell me if there is a
simelar program with XP Home?

TIA
Andrew

You don't need it - you have the messenger service.

Go to a command prompt and type "net send /?" for help.

Andrew,

Lanwench already gave you a solution, but if you prefer a
graphical user interface, you may want to have a look at
http://www.michna.com/software.htm and download NTPopup, a
small, simple, unobtrusive program for the task.

Thanks for that guys. Another quick question. Does XP Home have any
replacement for the "Net Watcher" utility that came with 98, or shall I
search and find a 3rd party utility?

Thanks again

Right-click My Computer and click Manage | Shared Folders. You can
then see shares, sessions, and open files like in Ne****cher.

The command for sending messages is NET SEND
Run DOS Prompt and type it in there, and it will show instructions.
