No, he didn't cross-post. What he did is multi-post; he sent the
same message separately to more than one newsgroup.
Multi-posting fragments the thread, and is bad practice. The
proper way to send a message to more than one newsgroup is by
crossposting--putting the names of several newsgroups in the
"Newsgroups" line of a single message. (However crossposting
should be only to a *few* related newsgroups.)
