If you install\uninstall a lot of programs every day then
this is just good practice. I go to many sites every day
and download a lot of demo programs to test them for
quality and ease of use and have to defrag after every
session. sometimes two to three times a day. Part of the
regular maintenance of your system. Good luck.

"Have to"? What does "have to" mean?

I completely disagree. I'll grant you that there might be someone
who does so much file creation and deletion each day that doing
it daily might be beneficial. But it would be extremely rare
person; I've never seen such a system. To suggest that this
should be "part of the regular maintenance of your system" is an
enormous exaggeration. Somewhere around monthly is adequate for
most people.

Yep, from the same person that reports system restore is useless and a
marketing gimmick, affected by programs such as defrag and av software.
Lol, no wonder he can't get system restore to work :).

No, defragging should not be required on a daily basis. Once a week, with
heavy computer use, should be plenty.
