xp activation

i just bought a new toshiba laptop and want to activate
my windows, but the activation "switch" is nowhere to be
found and i already tried using the run option. Can it be
that it is already activated because when i swithed the
sysytem on windows was alredy instaled.

Most PCs purchased with XP already installed have been preactivated by the
manufacturer.

It may be an OEM manufactured version which does not require activation and
can only be used on that machine.
