I put my XP Home disk in the drive.
I choose "Install optional windows components"
I put a checkmark in the Fax Services box
It begins to install and then pops up a "Files Needed" box which says:

The file fxscfgwz.dll on the Windows XP home edition CD ROM is needed

However I can't find this file on the disk anywhere!!!

I did, however, find the file in c:\windows\system32\dllcache however if I
point it to this file, it simply ignores it and promptly puts back up the
"Files Needed" box asking for the same file again.

And, btw, if I try to install it from Control Panel -> Add/Remove
Programs -> Add/Remove Windows Components, I get the exact same problem.

This is supposed to be easy, why is it refusing to install this. Is FAX
really available for XP Home? Or is it just for XP Pro? The Help says it
is.....

Thanks in advance

It is possible that an OEM version of the operating system may not have =
the FAX component on the disk. Is this a retail copy of XP Home =
Edition, or did it come preloaded on a new machine?
