View Full Version : Receint Upgrade

I receintly upgraded this machine from Me to XP Home, and only two programs
gave me any problems.
1. Wordperfect 6.0---1993 vintage, does not open in a full screen but is
only in the center, with the two sides pulled in, therefore the size of the
typing is not very readable and is not really usable. I can and do use
Word, but I do miss the old Wordperfect.
2. A Clipper program I wrote (My Checkbook and Check Printing), about 10
years ago, it also will not open in full screen. Only about the top 1/3 of
the screen.
Both programs will work, just not as well as with the older versions of
Windows.
Any help and/or suggestions appreciated. Smart Ass answers are not
appreciated.

Locate the shortcut that opens up the program in question. Right-click =
it and choose Properties. Click the Compatibility tab. There are =
several settings there you can test to see which makes it work best for =
you.

Thanks you for the response; however, the programs do not respond to any
tried configuration.
BTW, I remember you from a few years ago when I was having some problems and
you were a great help, Thanks again

You're welcome, Joel. Sorry it didn't resolve for you. It doesn't =
always, particularly on some of the very old programs. Have you thought =
of upgrading Word Perfect?
I don't remember what I helped you with, Joel, but I do remember you. :)

Yes, I have thought of upgrading the Word Perfect; however, the computer has
Word and I can use that, just liked the Word Perfect better. It is the same
thing with Lotus vs Excel. Lotus is better in my opinion; and the older
version of Lotus that I have works fine with this XP. The most important
program is the Clipper program. It does work, it just that I cannot display
it in full screen.
