yes - to protect against 'incoming'
note
you should also look for 'outgoing protection' in
such as free firewall like 'zone alarm'/
against 'trojan horses' esp
so
go start/control panel/network and internet connections/
go network connections/
right click on - your connection - 'connection mgr'/
go properties/advanced/
go - click on - internet connection firewall/
go - settings/bottom of page/
go - security logging - tab/
go - click on - both 'logging options'/
and
take it fr there
