installation of xp

I currentluy run windows me but I had a desire to upgrade
to Windows xp. I went and got myself a windows xp full
version and started to install it. I got so far then all
went wrong with the result that my computer offers at
startup the option of loading windows xp setup or windows.
how do I restore the status quo and would i be able to
simply upgrade my windows me to windows xp or have I
really messed things up

All you needed was the Upgrade Version of XP (about $150)
if have WinMe. Paid a lot of unnecessary bucks getting full
version but your choice.
