Just purchased a Sony desktop with WinXp and a 80GB HD. The system shows two
drives:
Local Disk (C:) 14.9GB available 9.4GB
Local Disk (D:) 59.5GB available 59.5GB
How do I make use of all that space on Drive D:????
Everything I upload, install goes on to Drive C:
Thank you,
Steve

On d: (in folders you create)
- store your documents
- store your MP3'
- store your video's
- ... anything you want.
On c:
- reserve for applications
You'll probably want to change default file/safe folders in your
applications so they go to folders on d: instead of c:

Go to C:documents and Settings/your name/My Documents/My Music,my pictures
and drag them onto D:\. Then when you download these types of files they
will save there. You can drag all the folders out of your profile over to
D:\.

Go to download.com and download "Application Mover" vers 2.5. This
program will move any program and files from C: to D:. Then do as your
previous responder says. From then on direct all your new programs to
D:. Create a "Games" folder and put all you games there. Create a
"Program Files" and put all your programs there. These are just some
examples of what you can do. Also if you keep C: for OS then you only
have to defrag the C: drive once in awhile. :-)
