Hello,
XP SP2 (installed from a slipstreamed CD) on a Dell D400
with the builtin Truemobile BT adapter. Driver looks good
but...
I create a serial port and I make the
laptop 'Discoverable' and try to connect from the iPaq -
and when I discover available services all I see is
one 'P' (with an icon with a question mark).. Anyone have
any ideas?
Also - anyone know of any plans for integrated (or third
party) audio gateway, headset and/or lan access (as
opposed to PAN) drivers for the SP2 bluetooth stack?
Many thanks,
Michael.

Hi
In the Bluetooth CP -> com ports -> add an incoming com port (usually next
available com port between 1-9). Now you will be able to create an
ActiveSync via Bluetooth connection with your device (assuming its already
paired with passkey enabled). Other relevant settings are esuring that Allow
Serial Cable or Infrared Connection to this Com port (same port as the
incoming you added) is enabled in the Activesync connection settings as well
as Pass Through in the ActiveSync Options -> Rules to allow internet
conncetivity through your PC.
What has stopped (Disabled by MS) working in SP2 is Internet Connection
Sharing ICS between LAN and Bluetooth PAN which is the way many PDA users
setup their internet connectivity for PDA via bluetooth.

Sorry - no. All I see is the 'P' icon when I try
connecting from the iPaq... I added a com port for
incoming (it setup as COM4) - but it is not visible from
other devices. Yes - I have setup discovery..

If only I could get the serial port to be discovered by
the iPaq (or any external BT device) then I could start
messing with the other settings...
