Scandisk is now known as Check Disk:

Open the Command Prompt and type: CHKDSK /F , and hit enter.
Answer "yes" and reboot your computer.

Additional information:

1. Open XP's "Help and Support".
2. Look under "Pick a Help topic".
3. Click on "Performance and Maintenance"

There is no scandisk in Windows XP. The XP equivalent is called
chkdsk. You can run chkdsk from the Start | Run line.

It is difficult to get any meaning from your message if you do not quote the

>Ronnie,
I thought everything previous was being automatically
copied. My mistake: however, my intent was to simply say
that CheckDisk (or Check Disk, ChkDsk, Scan Desk) is
sitting there under All Programs/Accessories/System Tools
waiting to be activated. You do not need to use Start/Run
or Accessories/Command Prompt or any form of Command Line
other than a left click to use it. Hope this clarifies my
previous post.
