I have WinMe installed on my C: and WinXP on the D:, I want
to use WinXP exclusively. Can I just format C: and use the
transfer wizard to move XP to C:? If not, what do I need
to do? Thanks for you help!

Depends. Are these two physical drives, or just two partitions? If =
they are partitions, do you have a partitioning program such as =
Partition Magic, or did you create the partitions with FDISK?

No you cannot
When you installed XP as a dual boot on "D" it created the master boot =
record on "C"
formatting "C" will erase and your system will not boot without doing a =
repair installation of XP on your "D" drive.

Hi Carl,

1) You cannot format C without losing the boot files, just delete the WinME
system folder after booting WinXP. You can then edit out the reference to it
in boot.ini (a hidden system file you will find on the root of C:\).

2) You cannot move WinXP to C, you must install it there. You can use the
FASTWIZ to transfer your settings from D over afterwards.
