My machine came with XP Home edition.
I have programs which must be run on Windows ME.
I have my complete ME Installation CD.
Are there straightforward instructions anywhere, detailed
and specific to follow, so that I can partition my HD
and then be able to boot to either one?
Thank you.

The only way you can delete, create, resize or merge existing =
partitions,
and not harm your existing Programs installation, is to use
a third-party partitioning program such as Partition Magic 8
(www.powerquest.com).

"Error 1513" when I try to partition it..... now what?

I don't know anything about this particular program, but I'd like
to at least suggest the possibility of the following:
How do you know it won't run under Windows XP? If their
documentation doesn't mention XP, it could just be that the
documentation was written before XP was available. If that's the
case, there's the strong possibility that it will run just fine
under XP.
I think it's at least worth a try.

Hi William,
BootIT NG from www.terabyteunlimited.com will do what you are trying to do.
Half the price of PM as well.

Ken, of course I've tried it. APL uses, and requires, its own special
character set, and it's just not compatible. It's not a matter of
documentation. The APL language honshos are alive and well and
corroborated what I found out myself.

Rick, I bought BootitNG a number of months ago, and tried it, and
found it very difficult to use, and poorly documented as well. I have
it, maybe I should just give it another try. Maybe what it takes is
perseverance. It's not a matter of price. Thanks for pointing me
back to BootitNG.

Hi William,
Yes, BING's documentation is a bit scary at first, but it gets easy once you
get used to the interface. Some others to consider:
Boot Managers and Partitioning programs:
Partition Commander http://www.v-com.com/product/pc_ind.html
Ranish Partition Manager http://www.ranish.com/part/
