View Full Version : internet stopped

Suddenly all internet connectivity on my XP Pro machine
stopped. This means Explorer, Outlook, AOL, Mozilla,
Real, etc. Hardware and cable connections are good. Ditto
drivers. I'm connected to a small network through a
Lynksys router to a Road Runner cable modem. Other
machines on this network are unaffected. My machine
worked fine for months until this suddenly happened.
Pinging fails to locate servers...any servers. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I solved a similar situation earlier today thanks to the advice of PA Bear
in another newsgroup...

suing Winsock XP Fix

(http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html) or
any of the other items found at http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/winsock.htm.

Jake,

can the problem computer still ping and see the other computers
in the LAN?

Perhaps you could run ipconfig and post the results here.
