I saw similar posting asking about how to get the hot
fix. I had same question. However, I was wondering if
the fix is included in the upcoming Win XP SP2?

Greetings atnbirdie,

Yes, the fix is included in Service Pack 2 (SP2). For a list of fixes
included in Windows XP SP2, see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article.

I have installed SP2 successfully and I still have the same issue with the
network card. Drops connection and won't reconnect until reboot.

Regarding Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 828940, can anyone advise if
this problem is known to occur in Windows2000Pro, also? I have the very
same symptoms with one Linksys Wireless client in my Win2K home network.
