Bad_pool_caller Help

I was trying to reinstall XP on my friends computer because he took his Internet explorer and put it into recycling bin. Anyways, when i went to reinstall XP I had about 21 minutes of install left and all of a sudden this blue screen appeared and it somthing about bad_pool_caller. I have no clue what it means or how to gwt rid of the problem. Can anyone please tell me what to do to get his computer fixed. I feel real bad about my friend not being able to use his computer..
