Running WinXP when computer starts to boot, a message states: "lssas.exe -
not enough virtual memory or paginq quota" then it tries to reboot over and
over again. Keep in mind that I can't even access "start" or "control panel"
to adjust virtual memory or paging quota...so does anyone have any ideas?

It is likely that you are experiencing malware problems, especially if the
message relates to lssas.exe and not lsass.exe. The first is a known trojan
horse.

Boot into safe mode and follow the instructions in

Actually, my mistake, it does reference lsass.exe...so apparently not the
trojan horse. Any other ideas with this update?

Have you found a solution to your problem?

I am experiencing the same problem with a Windows XP Pro. I get the same
result when trying to boot in safe mode. I mounted this HDD on my computer
and scanned for viruses and it is clean. I also checked it and there is no
HDD defect.

I can access the disk via the Restore Console or by mounting it on another
computer (it's Fat32).

I would hate to have to rebuild this system.

It is definetely not a virus. So what is causing this?
