View Full Version : How to uninstall SP2 RC1?

It doesn't show up in the uninstall list (even when I check show updates).

Try this first. Make sure that from an Explorer window you have set the
Tools-> Options->Views to "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide
protected operating system files". Then locate
C:\Windows\$NtServicePackUninstall$ and run the file called spuninst.exe.
If that doesn't work then check here

Don't see that folder. I think I might have screwed myself because when I
installed RC1 i think I didn't choose to backup :( I kind of just assumed
that you would be able to install RC2 over top of RC1.

XP is now well beyond RC2 and has gone RTM (Released To Manufacture). While
it was possible to update some later versions of RC1 to RC2 I doubt that it
would prudent to update RC1 to RTM.
