View Full Version : SP2 Issues

Insatlled SP2 and no serious issues, althought I did have to update my
Norton Antivirus to work with Security center and my ATI Radeon 9700
video driver. However, 2 things are still less than they should be:

1. Boot time has slowed...I note the boot process includes a read of
my floppy drive, which I rarely use, and I'm wondering if ( and how)
I can safely streamline this to expedite boot-up.

2. My Norton Antivirus tray icon is supposed to show "Autoprotect
enabled" but it takes a full 3 -4 minutes after boot for it to convert
from disabled to enabled, and I suspect Windows Security Center is
trying to communicate with it and its bogging things down. During
this time my system is unuseable! As I use 3rd party firewall and
ant-virus I've unchecked the boxes for notification in Security Center
hoping it would eliminate this annoying, sluggish behaviour but no
luck so far. Any suggestions would be welcomed!
