remember password

Can someone please help? This is making me crazier than I
need to be!

Every time I open Outlook Express it has my username
listed, but makes me type in my password.

The EXACT same thing happens when I'm on the net & go to
a site (secure or not) I've been to many times before.

The "remember password" area is checked BUT GRAYED out.
So each time I visit either one, I have to type in the
password.

Not a big deal, but this used to work!

Any suggestions? All I can find is the main start-up
password help.
