View Full Version : adding xp components

I recently wanted to add the fax console to my windows set up of XP. I have
only a recovery cd and this does not allow me to install it as the set-up
requests a copy of xp home edition. Can anyone suggest where I could get the
component I need as my computer seller will not load it for me without a
substantial cost (go figure eh?).
Thanks

Dew,
Have a look on the hard drive for a folder called i386 - it may be the case
that your hardware vendor as some other OEMs do has placed the i386 folder
on the hard drive. This contains all of the relevant files from a real
Windows XP CD ROM to allow you to add additional (standard OS) features.
Please note this does not include valueadd features such as Backup if it is
not there.
