Okay folks, I am really starting to lose it here. I hope somebody out there
can get me out of this one.
So I set up foaming, I mean roaming profiles for users with Win2k AD, got
the XP Admin templates, works like a dream. Okay, so I want to be able to
redirect the my documents folders so that the little darlings don't freak
about having their entire documents folders follow them along.
Good so far?
Okay, so here is the kicker. Active Desktop. You see, there is this nifty
little old link on our Intranet site that I want to be able to display on
the desktop as far as it being an active directory window. It's a nifty
thing, customized with all sorts of things that will keep people from
calling.
The problem is that when users log in or log off, the synchronization window
appears and, if for the briefest moment, they have the option to play with
things. Not that it really matters much, however, users will be users and
they will play. I have played around with the offline folder settings and
cannot seem to get a magic formula working here. Is it something that needs
to be done, I mean, cant you have folder redirection without offline folder
usage?
Has anybody out there really been able to keep this synchronization window
from appearing when users log in or log out so that it syncs only in the
background? I really don't want them to see that window. At the very
least, I would like to disable the buttons on it so fine, let it sync, but
don't give them the option to play with settings.
