It can be done but requires some skill so be sure to write
down what I am sending and keep it handy.
Go>start\run and type in regedit and navigate to the end
of this route.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\windows\Curre ntVersion
\Explorer\TrayNotify left click on TrayNotify to
highlight it and in the right panel right click on
IconStreams and then click delete.
Close out of regedit
Right click the task bar at the bottom of your screen and
click task manager and then the processes tab.Left Click
on explorer.exe to highlight it and then click "end
process" button down in the lower right corner. When the
warning screen come up just click to close it. Now in task
manager click file on the tools bar at the top left and
then new task and type in explorer and click ok. Then
close out and all past icon streams will be cleared and
only the present ones will show. Good luck.
