I just downloaded SP2 and now my system won't boot and it
won't recognize my hard drive! What type of upgrade is
this?? This sucks completely!! I called Microsoft last
night and they are useless, mostly because I couldn't
understand a single word the guy said and secondly,
because, he didn't understand me. Talk about a useless
conversation! Anyway, I just needed to vent..IF anyone
else is having this same problem! Please drop me an
email!! Thank god for laptops!! ((laughs))

Hi

How far into the bootup sequence does your PC get and are there any error
messages at all?

I am having the same sort of problem-machine gives me 4
idfferent reboot options (including safe mode) but all it
does is just start over again. My post on this problem
should be coming on-line soon under 'SP2 boot problem.'
Haven't called MS yet-have to brush up on my Swahili or
Farsi

I know what you mean. I am so tired of seeing that
screen. Mostly because it knocked out my usb keyboard and
now all I can do is turn it off manually.ditto - Thank
God for giving me enough sense to buy a laptop last year!

I have run into a problem just like this.
After installing SP2 onto a friend's computer
it will not longer boot.
(He's an understanding guy)
This is an P4C800-E Deluxe Asus mobo with a SATA hard drive.

I spoke with a tech today who told me that there is a SATA driver
in SP2 that is not compatible with my system. I do not know if
this is a chip set issue or what it is related to.

I am wondering if anyone out there knows a fix for this.
I have re-installed without SP2 and the computer works fine.

Is the SATA driver incompatible with the P4C800-E? This is the same setup I
have with a 40g SATA Raptor....
