View Full Version : SP2 issues?

For the most part, SP2 installed very smoothly. But I've noticed some
disturbing system events after the install. I have atapi errors??? Prior
to the install, my event logs are clean. No problems. I run a very clean
machine. But why would I start having a cdrom drive not responding in time?
Coincidence? Also, the NetBIOS functions of browsing to open files from
within applications has now slowed to a crawl. Has anyone else noticed these
issues after a SP2 install?
If you have no need for the windows firewall or windows ad blocking what
specific purpose did sp2 address?
Is it possible to access the old style Windows Update interface? This new
interface appears to have eliminated virtually all user control?

there is an issue with the atapi file if you had a virtual dvd drive
installed by a program like alcohol 120. It locks the atapi file.
