I would like to do a full system format and subsequent
clean reinstall of XP Professional. I can not see how to
format C:, as I get a message saying "windows can not
format the drive while I am using windows." How do I
format my hard drive? Thanks in advance!! Steve

You can't format C while it is in use. You need to do the reformat and clean
install by booting the XP CD and then following the instructions here

Boot from the Windows XP installation CD, and follow the prompts.
