Mouse cursor problems after installing SP2

After installing SP2 my mouse cursor decides about once every half
hour to go completely haywire, and move in rapid motion randomly all
the screen and click on just about everything. Anyone else having this
problem?

Thanks for the tip. But it didn't seem to work. Actually it might have
made the problem even a bit worse.

Before updating the mouse driver, I could stop the mouse from running
wild by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and then open the Task Manager. I don't
know why this worked - but it did. However, after updating the driver,
this no longer work. The mouse also runs wild more often than before.
Would it help if perhaps I got a new mouse? Or are there any other
suggestions?

Sorry I did not see your earlier posts, but you might try going to the
comp.hardware (or something) group and ask. Give them all the info you can
about your mouse and setup.

Definately try a new mouse. That's one aspect of troubleshooting. If
it happens with a new mouse of the same type, ie PS2 or USB then try the
other type of mouse.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll probably try with a new mouse
later. But for now, the solution that worked just fine, was to
uninstall SP2.

Just an update.
I reinstalled SP2 and have had no problems after that. I don't know
what happened the first time, but it seems like SP2 was not to blame.
