My XP Home computer suddenly shut down - no explanation - no error messages. Never happened before. No problems since. Any suggestions? (I didn't accidentally kick the off button!)

Many thanks

Did it come back? Is it a laptop with power saving?

No, a PC, no power saving. Came back fine - no ill effects. Just a
complete mystery

Could you have suffered a transitional brown out in which a few
AC cycles were dropped? You might not see it as your incandenscent
bulbs keep glowing for Many Cycles, but the computer power monitor
might see and shut down for safety.

Or loose wire? reseat the AC power cables all along the way. - RM

Hi Rick,

I wondered if it might have been a momentary power failure.

Possibly a momentary loss of pwer, If it doesn't happen again, I
wouldn't worry about it.
