View Full Version : Security Pop Ups in SP2

I have asked this question once before and Michael (MVP) suggested clicking
on the Pop Up and a menu would appear with options.
I've right and left clicked but no menu but it does fire up my firewall log.
I would be grateful for a pointer which would stop them. Certainly clicking
the box "Do not show this window again" does nothing helpful.
TIA

Hi
If it is Security Center popups in the system tray:
Control Panel/Security Center, click on the "Change the Way Security
Center Notifies Me" link in the left pane.

Thank you for this suggestion and pointing me towards the right place.
The popups are telling me what I already know and that is that my firewall
is blocking ports 135, 139 and 145 because if I leave them open I get
invaded with all kinds of nasties.
Maybe I am misinformed but I had the same settings before SP2 and no popups.

Apologies to everybody who has offered help. The problem is that the popups
originate from my Sygate Firewall and they did not show in XP before SP2 (I
don't know why) and can, with some difficulty be turned off.
It's a Silver Surfer problem called a "Senior moment" so I'm told.
All sorted and thank you for responding to my enquiry.
