I've tried Java Virtual and cleaning temp internet and
still get the little red "x" in the upper left corner of
many images when pages or web sites load. Simple site
with web shot images for screensavers, and all images
load onto page with red x, leaving me unable to see image
or to then download. Help, please. Must be some other
setting(?).

Sounds like a firewall is on and preventing you to see pictures the way you
should be able to. Try shutting it off and see if you can view them.

In IE, go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to the Multimedia section and make sure the box "Show Pictures"
is ticked.

Thanks. I tried that and found that box for "show
pictures" was already checked. Any other possibilities?
Thx
