View Full Version : Can't Upgrade from a previous ver. of SP2
sp2 beta issue
September 7th 04, 12:37 PM
Hi ,
XP SP2 won’t install because I have a previous ( beta ) version of the
service pack installed - ( Service Pack 2 , v.1204 ) .
So the SP2 setup asks me to remove the beta , but I can’t do it - no entry
in add/remove programs and no service pack uninstallation directory in
%systemroot% are available.
Do u know any tricky way to upgrade this beta of the SP2 ???

Ok I checked and .. U only have such checkbox if u have SP2 final installed.
If u dont have such checkbox - it means u dont have it installed.
So ,any other ideas on how can we upgrade SP2 beta to SP2 final ???

one solution possible (to the topic problem ) is to use Windows XP Setup CD
and perform Repair on the existing XP Installation (preserves all settings )
then Install XP SP 2
