View Full Version : Problems with SP2

I added SP2 to my new (2months old) computer but I have
had to have it removed because it began constantly
restarting. My computer supplier advises me that its
apparently a bug in SP2 (not THEIR computer!) has anyone
else had this problem? I'm reluctant now to put SP2 back
on in case it is a bug but I can't seem to find any
reference to it. Also since SP2 my Nero software and
also a PC game have refused to work, saying that they are
not compatible with this version of Windows when
previously they had worked fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks

There are issues with some Intel Pentium chips and sp2. Have a look at the
post
xp sp2 download, computer won't boot up now dated 28/08/04 14:12
which would indicate a bios update.

Also you should install the latest motherboard/graphics/sound drivers which
your PC supplier should provide, along with any bios updates required.

Regards

Verify all hardware and software are compatible with SP-2:

If you have a Prescott CPU, see the appropriate link.

Also be sure your computer is prepared for SP-2:
