I used CD to install service pack but am not sure it was
successful. How can I find out? The name is listed in
programs at ADD and Remove but there is no amount of MB
or KB

Then you have it OK. Right click "My Computer" then "Properties" it'll show
there. Alternatively go to Start/Run and enter winver then click OK.
