Today, I installed SP2 on my computer, running XP Home Edition.
Everything was going well until it asked me to restart the computer....
This I did , and now the computer will not start :(
It will not even start in Safe Mode, or last known good configuration.

When trying to start in Safe Mode, it gets as far as mup.sys file, then
gives a brief
flash of the Windows XP screen, then promptly reboots itself. If left, it
will just keep looping around and around rebooting.

Up until today, I had kept up-to-date with all the XP updates.
Now I am at a loss as to what to do next.

As far as I know all my device drivers were all up to date as well.

Well I found out that my mouse drivers were imcompatible with winxpsp2 !
If you have an A4 Tech USB mouse, you will need to update drivers,
luckily i had another OS on the PC, so i just replaced the files using
explorer,
then PC restarted ok on XP Home, then i just re-installed the new drivers.
