default internet site

When my browser closes, it re-opens with a searcv.com
website as opposed to my preferred msn.com. I repeatedly
change it under Tools, Internet Options, but it
keeps "defaulting" back to searchv.com. Any ideas on how
to keep this from happening?

You need to examine what is loading at System Startup. Click Start, Run and
enter MSCONFIG Go to the Startup tab. Look at the entries there and see if
you can determine what might be causing this behavior. Its is most likely a
program. You can also use a utility I've written that presents this
information in a more easily readable format and the results can be copied
and pasted into a reply, if you need assistance in determining what a
particular entry is. See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Startup
Programs Tracker. This small utility scans your system for startup programs
and running processes. It also allows you to create a log file that can be
copied and pasted into a newsgroup post. The contents of the program window
are also copied to the Windows Clipboard, automatically.

Generally the Running Services section is not needed for a newsgroup reply.
