View Full Version : Does SP2 remove MS Java, like SP1a did?

If you install SP2 over SP1 (not SP1a), does it remove MS Java the way
that sp1a does? Can you use the last ms java update msi file to reinstall
it?

No Microsoft VM stays with the installation of SP-2.

IIRC SP-1a did not remove it either.

But there was never any reason to install SP-1a over SP-1.
The only difference between the 2 was SP-1a did not have Microsoft
Virtual Machine.

I beg to differ, I remember reading that it does remove it (can't remember
where) and when I tested, I lost MS Java when I updated to SP2. I reinstalled
it by using the file frodo mentioned.

Oops, I stand corrected (by myself :-P). I did still have MS Java, the web
page I was using to test it with was blocked by default in SP2.
