In XP Scandisk has been replaced with Checkdisk. You can
get to it by highlighting your C: drive in My Computer and
selecting Properties/Tools.
Hope this helpsl,
Milt

Are there any "rules of thumb" for running chkdsk? Ie.. should you run in
safe mode? Should you shut down everything before running? Only run after
startup? ETC
Tnx, Bill

When you try to run Chkdsk, it will tell you that the
computer must be restarted in order for it to run. Just
restart and it will do it's thing!
Hope this helps,
Milt
