SP2/ Computer repeatedly restarts & freezes

I downloaded the service pack 2 and now every time i
start my computer it boots normally and when I go to use
it will either keep restarting or it will freeze.

Disable Automatically Restart option (Right-click My Computer -> select
Properties -> switch to Advanced tab -> click Settings under Startup and
Recovery -> uncheck Automatically Restart option -> OK everything).

Check Event Viewer (Start - > Settings -> Control Panel - > Administrative
Tools - > Event Viewer) for possible errors.

And try some basics:

Clean Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and other temporary files:

Check for errors and defragment hard drive:
