On a standalone PC running XP, I try to change the
properties of a folder from read-only. I go to the folder
properties screen, uncheck readonly, click on Apply and
then OK. I then revisit the properties screen - and the
check mark is BACK in "read-only" ?????????? This is a
subfolder of "My Documents"
Any help??

This is by design. Whilst the *FOLDER* is marked read only, the contents are
not.
