sorry if this has been touched on already but I've read
enough posts to make me crosseyed and the search function
did not return relevant results
I've installed and uninstalled sp2 twice now and can't
solve what seems to be minor problems (although they are
very annoying). Here they are any help or reference to
help would be greatly appreciated
- web page problems. Hotmail is unusable once I get to
my inbox. Google returns code not results.
- download problems. Some stuff won't download at all or
when trying to watch a video clip it hangs up
at "connecting" forever
- my symantec "live update" hangs up upon boot up
thanks!

symantec should have a patch if newer version, as some old
ones have security center beetchy.
turn off security center notifications when installed.
no odd toolbars in ie like hotbar and web search, and check
add/remove programs for odd program entrys that you did not
install.

wow! Thanks for all the feedback
scanned for spyware - yes in the last few days
spybot - installed and running
ad-aware - installed and scanned weekly
defrag hd - this past weekend
virus scan - norton 2003
computer patches - Alienware...no patches available
to sp2
I have the google toolbar installed but as soon as the
update completes I turn it off
add/remove programs - nothing odd in there
thanks for trying though!
