Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me. I just rebooted, nothing new on my pc and i have
lost 8gig on my c: drive (primary partition). the folders still add up to
4gig, it's a 13gig partition and now there is 1.49gb free.

I've checkd the Disk Management, it says "healthy", I've done a defrag just
to check. I've searched for large files, nothing. Multiple reboots, nothing.

Can anyone help out? I really don't like loosing 8gig!

Thanks

Kevin

In Explorer, go to Tools/Folder Options/View. Uncheck Hide protected
Operating System files.
If you now look in the root of the C drive, you will now find Hiberfil.sys &
Pagefile.sys
XP Search for files & folders won't find these ones, but then because of
this, I run Agent Ransack as my Search Engine.
Those 2 files alone on my PC total 1.6GB.
Also, check how many Restore Points you have. If your system is running fine
and you have no reason to roll back, delete all but the last Point.

Use the search function and look for all files over, say, 10 meg - then 100
meg - then .... (you get the picture). Use the "What size is it" option in
the search function.

I've tried that before but still could never find Operating System files,
that's why I went to Agent Ransack.
