Backed Out SP2 - Now no printers

Everything else is fine but now I get an error related to
the spooler, and when I try to install a printer I get an
error that says OPERATION CANNOT COMPLETE.
DO I have to reinstall XP, reinstall SP2, or is there
something simpler.

Also I tried system recovery, but seem to be uable to find
a viable restore point.
