Clearing a read-only disc

I was shown how to do this WAY back in middle school,
using the windows prompt... but my mind is drawing a
blank. Anyone help?

at dos prompt:
attrib -r -s -h
then delete.....

Right-click the file and choose Properties. On the General tab,
uncheck the Read-only box.
