I'm not sure this is the right newsgroup for this question
so if you know another place to post please tell me.
the thing is, i downloaded a few avi films to see on my computer. some of
the say they are divx or xvid (?)
if i use media player on some of them i don't hear the sound - only see the
picture.
on winamp sometimes i see and hear well but there is a color problem: all
the reds show as blues and all the blues show as reds. all other colors show
as well but the people have blue skins and the skies are always red...
i tried bsplayer and again i can only see the picture but not hear the
sound. (on dvd's bsplayer plays very well with sound)
i know my sound card and speakers work perfectly well because i can hear
other things not related to videos.
how can i solve this problem and enjoy the films with the right colors and
sound?
thank you!

Download te Standard DivX and the XivD codecs. Both, Media Player and WinAMP
will now be able to play the videos. (In both cases, the codec itself, which
is all you need, is free.)
