View Full Version : SP2 blocks Microsoft???

I have noticed something a little weird with the new features in SP2. The
popup blocker blocks links that create new windows (such as the post windows
on this site) but it does not block some advertising material. Also, the
firewall reported to me that Internet Explorer was trying to access the
internet (well duh) and it has blocked it. Why would the firewall block
Microsofts browser? All I was doing was loading my home page (which was
google). SP2 and these features in general are good, but it is odd that
Microsoft didn't exclude itself from the lockdowns.

The problem with humanity is stupidity. I am not saying it is illegal to be
stupid, but why don't we take safety labels off of everything and let the
problem solve itself?

It wasn't blocking itself, rather your home page Google. You have to tell
it to always allow and it wont do it again.

Well that makes more sense. I did tell it to always allow it and it doesn't
show back, the confusion was that it wanted to block itself in the first
place.
