Laptop can not finish booting

I have a problem with booting windows XP pro.
When I connect my computer with LAN the computer can not
finish booting as before and it is just showing "applying
computter setting".

But when I boot it without connection to LAN, it can
complete.

How can I fix this problem.

When did this happen first? If not so long ago, try the System Restore
tool.
