I installed SP2 for XP, comp wouldn't restart in normal or safe mode. Working
with Microsoft tech support, Gordon. He suggested I do a parallel install so
that data won't be lost. I have 2 HD's installed. If I switch master and
slave can I xfer data after running install on new master?

Try booting to xp cd on hd that wont boot-up,recovery,press enter for pass-
word,then type at cmd screen:CHKDSK C: /R When its thru type:EXIT
Let xp restart. You can copy hd to hd,but 1st,you need to be in explorer. If
thats
obtainable, the 2nd hd needs to be formatted with a primary partition, set
as slave on IDE chain,then go to run,type:XCOPY C:\*.* D:\ /c/h/e/k/r
D: being the hd,although whatever letter its assigned can be entered, also,
when prompted by DOS,agree to all.
