microphone

Can you help please?
Having installed sp1 on my computer I can no longer use my microphone.I have
tried the wizard in sounds and audio devises and the audio tuning wizard in
windows express,with no joy.
Do you know if there is anything I can do to enable the microphone after the
installation of sp1.
At the moment I have to remove sp1 for the microphone to work.
Any help would be appreciated.
