The reason that the renaming of it works is that the registry lockdown does
not recognise the name so it does not lock it down.

In case you upgrade to WMP 10, the Info Center View is now in a different
location and it is tied to the music stores so should work without editing as
long as you live in USA. Otherwise, you cannot use it or the music stores -
too bad I live in New Zealand (damn you Bill).

I "fixed" the problem by unistalling windows XP [professional], reinstalling
it, and resisting temptation to download sp2!!!! Problem solved.
